Why “no one” (allegedly) uses the lanes (a list of most common realities)
- they connect to nowhere (with a continuous safe cycle lane) so the people they’d appeal to (who don’t want to cycle with car traffic) can’t complete their trip. Cycle lanes only work if there are enough of them to be present for a full journey not just one street.
- they’re badly maintained - leave, debris, not gritted in winter so icy
- they are used, but you are one person and not a suitable sample size for research in this matter, gonna assume you aren’t watching 24/7 |
