| Comment | Curtains and blinds are a major one, not sure how true it is, but I read somewhere that it's basically down to burglars not being keen to take a risk on an unknown. If they can't see in, they don't know if there's actually anything valuable or if there's a dog waiting for them, so will skip it. Safer to break into somewhere they can clearly see is empty and has stuff they can get rid of.
Not saying that it's foolproof, if you are storing a bunch of Rembrandts or something and a burglar knows about and wants them, they will find a way. But for the chancer (which I understand is a majority of house breakings) it's enough to make them look elsewhere. |
