Comment | Aye, it's a tough one. On the one hand they need homes - helps with stability, safer than a lot of other kinds of residencies they could be in... On the other hand, it can cause trouble for their neighbours who fortunately aren't dealing with their issues. I think the strain on services and the lack of support they're likely to receive exacerbates problems. Fragmentation of care and services too - the Council or HA will get their rent, they'll have to look elsewhere for this type of care and that type of care... The whole thing seems a disjointed mess I think and it must be easy to get lost and possibly wind up in a horrid situation where they're not getting support and neighbours are inconvenienced to say the least. Sorry you had to go through that - I would've shat myself! But being nice was good of you and no doubt helped a great deal. |
