My late Grandma told me that when she met a guy in “the dancing” in the 40’s/50’s, if she liked him, she would say she was from North Kelvinside to impress him, and if she didn’t she’d say Maryhill. Not really sure it answers the question but it always makes me laugh whenever someone mentions North Kelvinside.
