Also consider Kinning Park.
These areas are both within walking distance to the city centre, and the former to the West End. And are also only a few minutes walk away from an underground station.
Both are fairly decent, there are a few pubs on the main roads where you will encounter punters that have had a few shandies, but you’re unlikely to get any hassle.
Dennistoun is decent also, but stay away from the far end, which is actually Haghill, but often described by estate agents as Dennistoun.
