Comment | Professional cleaning standard, even if written in your contract, is a non-legal clause. Many letting agencies/landlords actually own these end of tenancy cleaning companies and charge massive markups, that being said your own cleaning should be enough.
Dispute with deposit protection immediately, it’s very unlikely they will side with agency and there’s almost no chance they would increase this charge so you have nothing to lose. Dispute that (apart from wallpaper) you left it in the same condition as when you arrived and landlord would need to provide proof. Regardless, the scheme will be very aware that professional cleaning should never be done. |
