That's an assumption and not one I agree with at all. As I've said in other comments, the opposite. I assumed that a majority of people would actually already be vaguely aware of this.

And you might've missed my point as well about raising awareness; that's a point against so much activism (and even charity campaigns etc.) being about raising awareness of certain conditions or difficulties *rather than - because it costs more and/or is more difficult* actually taking PRACTICAL ACTION to do something about them or their impact on society.

The problem here is that the CEO is paid more than the workers. That's what we need to fix. Making sure more people know about the specifics of how much he's paid is, in my book, a very entry level point to tackling that problem. Isn't there more we can do?

Or to look at something like depression for another example. What's better, raising awareness that depression exists, or funding programmes and therapies that will help *real people struggling with depression* to manage their depression and live more fulfilling lives?
