ok. tell glasgow city council to actually connect up the cycle routes they build. right now it's basically "cycle lane for 1/2 a mile, spit you into traffic for 1 mile, cycle lane starts again, lasts maybe about 1/2 a mile, spit you back into traffic"

hell, what about when cycle lanes are just closed or blocked by parked cars? if you don't think bikes should be on the road then you should be just as mad at cars parked in the cycle lane, right? but let's go back to the cycle lanes being closed. the gorbals street cycle lane. GCC spent years planning and building it. do you know how long it's been open since it was completed in march? 8 days. keep in mind, that's the road that connects one of the busiest cycling routes in glasgow transporting over 1000 cyclists a day.

the cambridge street cycle lane has been closed for 2 months now, it was really busy because it was basically the end point of the canal/garscube road cycle lane which at peak would transport 800 cyclists per day. you're basically expected to rejoin the road in both of these cases but oh no, some dude on reddit says bikes don't belong on the road so i guess that means i've just got to walk along with my bike.
