It's worth pointing out that cycling on the pedestrian precincts in Glasgow City Centre is completely allowed.
The precincts are designated Core Paths and are reserved for use by pedestrians and non-motorised vehicles such as bikes, scooters, roller skates, horses etc. The signage isn't always great and inconsistent but it's clearly visible on Sauchiehall Street.
