Thanks for your support and I fully agree that antagonising a cyclist can distract them and lead to an accident. The same could be said for car horns against other car drivers.
On this occasion I heard the guy shouting after I was safely on the cycle path and stopped. I could hear his abuse from the other side of the roundabout, so just called him a fanny back and then moved on
