Comment | Low 80s when gaming doesn't mean much without knowing about your case, its airflow, the settings of the game you're playing, etc. That's actually a somewhat reasonable temp if you're really pushing things, like gunning a raytraced game through its paces. Idling at 60 though, woaft, that's a real issue. As others have said, its probably your GPU needs a re-pasting. However, before that, I would check your fan curves. There's a myriad of software out there to do this. Its possible that your GPU isn't actually cooling itself down appropriately, leading to your situation. A completely uncooled GPU is going to blow itself up tae fuck if you try doing anything. MSI Afterburner is the best for managing and monitoring your fans on your PC. Here's a guide: [https://www.pcgamer.com/how-to-customize-gpu-cooling-using-msi-afterburner/](https://www.pcgamer.com/how-to-customize-gpu-cooling-using-msi-afterburner/) Before you decide its best to take it to a shop, you're better actually diagnosing this problem yourself. First off, it'll save you a lot of money, and second off, part of the joy of PC gaming is learning how it all works and understanding the insides and out of it all. If you're well and truly stumped after going through all this, then you can consider taking it to a shop, but it should never be a first resort. You'll just waste time and money for yourself, when the majority of PC "issues" can be resolved in a matter of minutes. |
