The ceilings were fully complete as part of the refurbishment project that was done in advance of the commonwealth games.
The tiles have now been removed again as part of the resignaling project that is associated with the new trains. They’ve been taken out in order to install cabling that runs from the upstairs plant rooms down to the tunnels.
For some reason SPT have effectively done these two projects in the wrong order. It’s like getting your house painted and decorated first then deciding to get an electrician rewire it second.
SPT don’t have a project department to manage these type things snd forever make a mess of it. They bring in independent consultants to manage the works on their behalf. In my experience the consultants love it as they can charge a fortune and all these mistakes that happen are in their by interest as it keeps them in the subway for longer with a license to print money for themselves. |
