Contrary to a lot of what other people are saying... We had a neighbour downstairs complain about a leak in our shower, so we redid all the sealant and tried to fix it all. Fine for a while. They complained again recently, only thing is our entire bathroom had been ripped out and water off for days beforehand. It turned out a leak in the roof was causing water to track down behind the tiles in our bathroom and into theirs.

Not been much rain recently, but my point is it can happen.

If it's not your flat then you can only report it to the letting agent and landlord. Make sure there's a paper/email trail of the report so they can't blame you for neglect or negligence.
