i'm sorry to hear that happened to you. honestly, it's better that you're ok than your bike. bikes are replaceable, a human life isn't.

i'll give you a quick warning when it comes to dealing with police scotland. if there's no major harm to you, they might try to get you to drop the case. one of my friend's got hit by a car running a red light then ran off. he got the reg, the bike was totaled but he was mostly ok. even though he caught it on video, the investigating officer kept saying because there was no harm, the case wasn't worth the resources.

if you have bike/home content insurance, it should cover the damage done to your bike but it also might be worth waiting to see if the driver of the van is found because at that point, their insurance should pay for it since they were at fault.
