If you're gonna be there for hours, I'd avoid most small independent cafés as they need space for reoccurring customers.
I usually use a wetherspoons to get work done. Most are quiet enough during the day, coffee is cheap and their wifi is usually good.
Not exactly a fancy cafe but the staff don't care if you're there for ages.
