11am seems quite early for the first delivery of what was an EVENING paper. Their goal was to keep people up to date with news throughout the day, before the internet minute by minute and social media shitfest we have now. The last television advert I can remember from them (probably from the very early 2000's had the tagline, 'who wants to read yesterday's news?' And you could get a copy from a street vendor, or a Herald if you preferred, in the town on your way back from work or the pub. Around the mid 2000's it was copied by the Sun and Daily Record who sold late, even shiter, copies of their rags for cheap before they have up and chucked them at you for free. Evening Times went downhill fast trying to compete, gave up its two editions and the title 'Evening', and now the whole Herald group, one of the world's oldest newspapers, is an utter shitshow. I for one miss the days of the good people selling an up to date actually fact checked and edited newspaper on the streets with their eccentric chants rather than getting my pish non-information from online fuckery.
