It is all self defeating and depressing nonsense.

Honestly its hard to blame normal peoples lack out of outrage, people have had it battered into them for the last decade from every side that its "too many people", "we cant support them" and without having had to be involved in the immigration process its possible I would not have been able to understand the reality of it.

The reality is we are currently depend heavily on immigration in order to sustain our public services, far from costing money immigrants are the most productive members of our society when it comes to soulesly measuring the economic reality of the situation.

But beyond the numbers, its just sad that people are having their ability to form relationships, fall in love and plan families becaue some exploitative pricks want to make headlines.

I work for nice big name tech firm, have started companies that got funded by big brand investors, started popular meetups etc, I have seen a lot of the things I am involved in be used by politicians to talk about how business friendly / great for investors this country is but (despite me being pretty much 100% Scottish) I was very close to just not being able to live here, and chances are if the recent rule changes had have been reality 10 years ago I probably would not have.

Independence from these pricks is the only thing that gives me any political hope.
