Depends what you want to do in tech, it's a wide net. I work as a infrastructure/server engineer nowadays but I got into a company called Proact (shite wages, shite shifts, huge staff turnover) in 2013 that got me a decent foot in the door. Moved about a bit for about 5-6 years after that and learned as much as I could.

I had an HND from college but never once got asked to present any proof of my college/school qualifications at all. But again, this was about 10 years ago so not sure how relevant that'll be nowadays.
