[Here](https://www.scotrail.co.uk/media/3642/download?inline) is a map of the train lines to help you understand things a little better. Glasgow Central and Queen Street station are the two major train stations, and both have low level platforms where the track continues and does not terminate at the station. You can see on the map if you look at Anderson that the train line goes on for quite a while in both directions. For example, you can ride the train all the way from Milngavie (North) to Larkhall (South East). Between these two stops are many towns and this line generally has a train every 15 minutes (depending on the route).
