I’d recommend renting a larger flat in Anderston area while you settle into your role and then get to know the city etc. Anderston has a mix of businesses and residential and there are schools there too.

The immediate walking distance areas for Anderston are tradeston, city centre, Finnieston, gorbals, hutchesontown, merchant city, trongate, salt market. Some of these are more affordable than others.

Renting can be expensive in glasgow. We are experiencing a housing crisis currently where there are not enough affordable properties. You can search for properties on Rightmove and local housing associations.

Houses tend not to be within the city boundaries or are very expensive. The greater glasgow area is made up of suburbs with houses but this means you’ll have to take a bus or train to work which is another expense.
