More recently, there have been documents originating at a higher level in the NHS suggesting that this is now being made a UK wide policy.
It's a mix of cost-cutting, reducing GP's workload and liability and, paraphrasing their words, "to avoid the NHS becoming a two tier system".
They want you to either a) put up with years long waiting lists or b) if you can afford a private diagnosis then you can afford everything else through private clinics, including prescriptions. |
