I passed second time around at Anniesland just over a year ago. The various routes they do aren't terribly taxing but do give a good mix of hazards and circumstances. There are two routes that involve double mini-roundabouts, which I still hate to this day, one that has an actual Stop sign, opportunity for hill start (either up or downhill) and also some traffic priority signs in traffic calming areas.

I actually did all the tricky stuff pretty well first time around, failed due to not checking blind spots properly when pulling away. Second time around I got one minor for being in the outer lane at a set of traffic lights and instructor felt I should have been in the leftmost lane.

Good luck for when it comes around. I don't know how long you've been down south but there are more annoying bus gates in the city centre these days, watch out for them if you have to drive in town.

PS - I recommend doing Pass Plus afterwards, and [remember they changed the law to allow learners on motorways if you're with an approved instructor](https://www.gov.uk/government/news/learner-drivers-will-be-allowed-on-motorways-from-2018)
