They’ll take you very seriously. They have to due to the link with suicide. They’ll go through the common symptoms with you and see if you’ve been suffering from them. They’ll also ask you how bad it is has got (I.e. suicidal thoughts).

They’ll probably suggest something non drug based initially like exercise, counselling, CBT but if you just want drugs they’ll probably give you them. The drug you get will depend on whether or not you’re also suffering from anxiety.

Don’t worry about it. It’s the most common thing people go to their GP about.
