There is a multitude of stuff that an MOT doesn’t cover, engine problems for example.
You get protection from existing problems if you buy from a dealer, or even a private seller. Auctions are simply “sold as seen”.
I own a garage and we do work for lots of dealers. If a car has problems and isn’t economically viable to fix, then they send it to the auctions. |
