Comment | Well I would never argue against improving public transport - it's necessary to get people out their cars and make transport more equitable. Building bike lanes is comparatively inexpensive - you just need to remove parking spaces, fire in kerbs, add some signage, resurfacing etc - it can be integrated into maintenance and planned upgrades.
But the weather/hills thing isn't exactly that relevant - Copenhagen and Amsterdam are dreich as fuck, Montreal is hilly and has terrible weather, San Franscisco is super hilly and rainy/foggy, yet they all have more cyclists. |
