You probably know a lot more than most considering you work in homeless accommodation so if you can be bothered answering then I’m just wondering -

are the majority of the beggars in the town actually homeless? I suspect they are but social media makes you think that some of them are ‘at it’, particularly the Romani ones. You always hear stories about them getting picked up at the end of the day in a fancy car but who knows if that’s just racist anecdotes.

If they are homeless then are we lacking shelters?

What makes them not eligible for shelters? Is it in their favour not to go to shelters as it limits their benefits or whatever?

Are the shelters rife with dealers? I’d imagine so but what’s your thoughts on shooting galleries (safe hygienic needle places for shooting up)?

What can we do as random citizens to help the genuine homeless, the addicts? Who is worth donating too or volunteering for?

I’m out on the piss tonight so excuse the naive ramble...
