"In 1839, Kelvinside was sold to Matthew Montgomerie (1783-1868) and John Park Fleming (d 1869) of the law firm Montgomerie & Fleming, who formed the Kelvinside Estate Co. to develop the estate."
and
"The last occupant of Kelvinside House was Mr Matthew Montgomerie who died there on 17th June 1868."
Still nothing on why his name was scrubbed off the map in favour of some seemingly random town in Somerset though. |
