Not my view, but I have heard it expressed by others.
As for driver vs cyclist behaviour, I'd say that over 2/3 of cyclists I see regularly skip through lights (and often ride across pedestrian crossings to try and justify it) but a lot less drivers deliberately going through a red light. Plus all those arseholes who ride on pavements as well, not just kids, grown ass adults.
Last night, for example, the light was red, green man showing, I was 2/3 across the road and someone on a bike zips through at 15-20mph in front of me. Fuck that, they had plenty of time to safely slow down, there wasn't any traffic immediately behind them, no excuse. If only that was actually a rare occurrence.
So, no, I do not wish death on any cyclists (even that asshole last night) but I think I am entirely justified in treating every cyclist as a potential major road hazard and annoyance, whether I'm on foot or in my car. |
