Got a big grant rejection. I've had that before and not been that bothered, but this one was months of proper hard work, been round the department, totally air tight work I thought.
Stings more when you're proud of it.
Reviewers got some dumb stuff wrong, which I was annoyed about, but then the proper panel thought I'd overstated how little we know about something. Which is genuinely quite brutal: I know what I'm on about more than they do (on this) and we really know fuck all.
