They're clearly in full scale meltdown.

Firstly, they don't charge nearly enough for a wedding video to be legitimate and have their insurance sorted out.

If they had Professional Indemnity insurance, the couple could sue them for the entire cost of restaging their wedding day in order to have a correct video. However, I highly doubt these boys have that.

I'd also doubt there's an iron clad contract between them and their client - which makes things tricky. If there isn't, then at best the couple will only be able to get a refund by taking proof of their payment and going through small claims court.. but, they still don't have a wedding video so how do they account for the emotional trauma of having hired someone so incompetent they couldn't retain even 1 scrap of footage from your day?

It's really tough, but take it as a warning - if you're getting married and the videographer isn't charging you close to £2k for the work, then.. Well, Monkey Box Films hits the nail on the head with their name... pay peanuts, get monkeys.

The £2k a legitimate wedding videographer will charge you covers costs of both Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance - usually to the tune of £10mil each. So if they fuck up and injure a wedding guest, the liability insurance pays out. If they fuck up and melt all the cards with your footage on before they manage to back them up, the indemnity insurance will pay out for you to redo the entire wedding. Atop that, the rest covers their equipment insurance, their time and skill, their computer hours and storage of the media after the wedding, editing, delivery of what was originally agreed upon.. so, with Monkey Box Films starting their wedding videos at £450.. should really tell you something.

What will probably end up happening here is that this boy will just nuke his entire website and brand and start again with a different name to avoid the controversy. He doesn't have the money to refund them, he sure as fuck doesn't have the money to redo their entire wedding and if he can't keep track of his footage safely then he *absolutely* should not be in that industry. Recipe for continued disaster.
