Phasing out diesel won't reduce the number of taxis and buses. 6000 diesel taxis will eventually just become 6000 taxis powered by something else.
Some are switching to electric. Most of them are going to become LPG in the next couple years (government grants are coming for taxis to convert to LPG) and another large chunk are moving back to petrol. I recently drove the new Octavia petrol and it had similar mpg to the diesel. |
