I couldn't agree more. I lived in London for a bit and it was fucking hellish. 18 months of abject poverty, miserable commute and no social life whatsoever. I'll never forget the week I moved home and read an article that ranked UK cities for their quality of life - London was way higher up the list than Glasgow and I found the entire thing laughable because I had found myself in a nicer, more comfortable, bigger flat for the same amount of money I was paying for a dingy, mouldy room in a house full of psychopaths in London, had much more expendable income because I could walk to and from work and wasn't treated like an alien by the people around me for not being English.

Glasgow is an excellent city, and quality of life assessments are total fucking whack because they seemingly take absolutely no consideration for income level and cost of living.
