My question was, what direction/meaning would you find in meeting strangers on the internet for a drink, but not in going to a pub on your own, with the intention of meeting a stranger for a drink. Both have an end goal (or direction/meaning if you prefer): having an enjoyable social interaction with a new person. So I'm still not clear why the issue with the perfectly reasonable suggestion that was put to you. |
