TitleThe Grand Ole Opry

Given all the shit that's afoot, what do y'all think about the members at the Grand Ole Opry cosplaying confederate soldiers and having their weird ass ceremony for the confederate flag?

I'm a New Scot from Atlanta who grew up watching [a laser show on the busts of Confederate leaders carved onto the side of a goddamn mountain](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stone_Mountain). [The state flag](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Georgia_\(U.S._state\)#/media/File:Flag_of_the_State_of_Georgia_\(1956%E2%80%932001\).svg) for all my childhood had the confederate battle flag on it, which was put there as a protest to desegregation efforts. That flag is not something to be celebrated, saluted, or honored in any way.

From [the last thread on this topic](https://www.reddit.com/r/glasgow/comments/3t23y2/grand_ole_opry_glasgow/), many were fine with these folk having their fun. If there was a Afrikaaners aficionado members only club obsessing over pre-1990s South Africa, cosplaying Boers, and having a wee ceremony every evening honoring apartheid, would we be cool with it and turn up to the club cause the beers were cheap?
