Body | I'm going to have to rent out my 3-bed flat in Partick for the foreseeable future as a source of income, and so I'm moving in with a mate who has a spare room in his place at the bottom of Victoria Road, western side, stone's throw from Queen's Park. Rent for there is fine if I can manage to rent out all three bedrooms in Partick. And yes I know, kill your landlord, but I simply don't have a choice at this point.
Thing is present-day Govanhill seems to have a bad reputation both in general and on this sub (the areas around Allison Street east of Victoria Road do seem like a bit of a dump driving through, and I'm aware of the issues surrounding that area) but I've never heard any complaints from either my mate or his previous flatmates (at least one of whom was female) about living at the bottom of Victoria Road, and every time I've been down to visit it seems lovely; lots of nice wee local businesses and pubs, the park is great, bike lanes etc. Just wanted to know if anyone could potentially warn me about anything. I mean I don't really have a choice and I love my mate and think it'll be great to live together for a bit, but still. The only concern I have from visiting his place previously is that the back court seems to be a bit of a cowp (I don't know that it was any worse than Partick but then I don't really remember as when I last glanced at it I wasn't considering living there). |
