A tragic story and, as ever, it was a series of errors which lead to this.
* Keep your dog on a leash at **all times**.
* It may be the sweetest, best trained dog in the world, but that doesn't mean other dogs are.
* If your dog has aggression issues, muzzle it as well.
* There's no shame, it actually signals your are responsible.
* Use a yellow collar, leash or something else to indicate you need space.
* There are a few (very few) dog parks around and other enclosed areas, let your dog off-leash there.
* Drill recall and drill it again. It will never be foolproof but you should do your best to get there.
* Any mistake our dogs make is on us.
We've had run-ins with aggressive, off-leash dogs in Glasgow. Whilst rare, it's never fun. The owners who *know* their dog is aggressive are fucking morons. |
