| Body | I recently got my first car and so now that parking charges are back I am going through the process of applying for a parking permit for my street. My street and surrounding streets all have parking bays that require a permit or you have to use the parking meter. However, the parking meters run from 8am to 6pm Monday-Saturday and only allow a three hour max stay which is £4.40.
My question is basically what do I do until the council processes my parking permit request? There's no chance I'm topping up consecutive three hour stays given the price (and I heard that's illegal anyway). Realistically does it mean I can't park anywhere near my flat until I get my permit?
