Body | I really want to know more about the process of traditional tenement refurbishment in Glasgow that began in the mid-70s. However, I can't find any real good sources on it. I have every book vaguely related to housing in Glasgow checked out of Glasgow Uni library but none of them go into any detail. They mostly either focus on the deprivation beforehand or on the shift from traditional tenements to tower blocks and new estates, when I want to know about is the tenements that WEREN'T demolished and refurbished, i.e. how the process was carried out technically, how communities were involved (I know community pushback largely saved both Dennistoun and Govanhill, the former being discussed in the excellent BBC doc Secret History Of Our Street), where did the residents of the tenements when they were being refurbished, etc. Cheers in advance |
