Hi guys, volunteering opportunity that those of you who are annoyed about this week's vote on Free School Meals might be interested in.

A Citizens Supermarket is a grocery store that buys excess food and sells it at hugely reduced rates to people on low incomes. This helps people get access to higher-quality food than they'd get from Foodbanks, and avoid the stigma of food bank use. It also provides jobs and increases cohesion in deprived communities. Currently, only one exists in the UK, down south in Birkenhead, but, excitingly, there's now plans to set one up in Glasgow. The Three Hills Citizen Supermarket will serve the communities of Nitshill, Preisthill and Rosehill, as well as the greater Pollok area. It'll provide people with affordable, high quality supermarket food, a cafe where those on low incomes can eat for free, and a safe community space to meet, talk and mutually support each other.

The project is very close to having its building lease approved In order to make this vision a reality, we need volunteers to help out with fundraising, publicity, and the general physical labour of getting the space prepared. If anyone would be interested in helping with this you can email me at [rodneyjamie622@gmail.com](mailto:rodneyjamie622@gmail.com) or WhatsApp me at 07414088309
