Body	Hi everyone, Have recently decided to take up fishing with my girlfriend as a COVID friendly activity. We've picked up a spinning rig and a permit for Forth, Clyde, and Union canals, hoping to spin for perch and pike in particular. Have been out on a couple of trips using 5g + 10g jigheads with either small worm lures or soft plastic fish lures, so far just getting snagged on reeds without so much as a single bite. Was hoping for any advice around good spots to fish, whether spinners or surface lures would be more advisable, are the jigheads too heavy? Any general fishing advice for a total beginner would be appreciated! Thanks
