TitleTrying to come off alcohol, GP and counselling will not return calls for help. Any advice/guidance?

Hello, I'm hoping someone here can help me. Quick backstory: After years of alcohol abuse I entered an inpatient detox centre at the beginning of this year, and remained sober for almost 6 months before I relapsed. Now I am trying so very hard to get sober again, however all of my calls for help are literally going unanswered. I have been told not to quit cold turkey as this could prove fatal (I did have an alcohol withdrawal seizure last year, also). I have successfully been able to gradually reduce my drinking, however to totally stop drinking, I feel I really need support with this as the side effects are becoming really substantial and it's affecting my mental health. For at least a month now I have been trying to contact my GP, but the phone just rings and hangs up. The crisis line I've tried has suggested waiting for a returned call from my counsellor who never calls back. The hospital where I detoxed stopped providing follow-up support in July, and they have repeatedly told me over the last month that I will be getting a call back and I still haven't, after repeated tries. I am aware that we are in the middle of a pandemic and resources are scarce, but I am just hoping that someone somewhere has had success with this recently and can suggest some places to try. The only other option I can think of is walking into A&E and explaining my situation. To anyone who's read this till the end, thank you for listening.
