TitleMechanics - window and light repair

Anyone able to recommend a good mechanic/car garage that can fix a driver window and a rear reg light?
Not fussed by location but I just need someone trustworthy and won’t rip me off.

Having a nightmare with Arnold Clark Pollokshaws and Hillington with both wanting money for stuff that’s happened while they had my car or money for stuff they’ve already said they’d fixed.

My car is currently in with Arnold Clark Hillington for its MOT (all passed, no work) but when they were washing it, my drivers side window “just fell down” and it’s completely “coincidental” so they won’t fix it. It’s an electric window, I haven’t seen it so I don’t know how to describe it other than what they said - it “just fell down”.
They say they can’t prop the window shut because of the type of car it is so want me to pay £260 for a part and to fix it. (It was fine when I dropped it off and I used the window the night.) But I’m thinking if I could arrange to take it somewhere else?

I don’t think I should be paying for this but I don’t have a choice so I don’t know if this is a good price or not and thinking I could take it somewhere else to fix but would need somewhere that could house the car since the window is down.

Pollokshaws said they fixed a warning light on my dash - saying my rear reg lightbulb wasn’t working but the light is working. Pollokshaws said they’d fixed it and took off the warning light. Except it’s not fixed so Hillington also want £50 to investigate it then whatever the cost is to fix.

Just at my wits end, any reliable garages that won’t rip me off or bill me for extra work?
I don’t know what to do.
