TitleIs living above a subway station a bad idea?

I'm about to sign a lease for a flat that's situated right above the Kelvinhall subway. I've been told by people from other cities to avoid such buildings because it gets really noisy, and there's smell. I don't know if the same applies to Glasgow. In my experience, the subway isn't too noisy. Does anyone have an idea?
