Was reading about how a part of Tollcross used to be known as "Egypt" due to a local man who served with the army there and returned to start a farm called "Little Egypt" or something along those lines. The area was absorbed into Tollcross but the name sometimes still appears on certain maps and I believe there is still a small farm of some sort. Does anybody know of any other areas like this? For example Sighthill and St Rollox are too other more well known areas that are all but disappeared |
