TitleHoping to move to Glasgow in the summer, could use some advice!

Sorry for yet another "tell me where I should live post", I know they can be exhausting.

I'm hoping to study an MA in creative writing at either UoG or Strathclyde come September, but I'm interested in moving to Glasgow regardless so i could use some advice about what areas to look in. If anyone has any experience with one or the other courses that would be a bonus!

I'm 26, from Ireland, have lived in Leeds for 5 years and have visited Glasgow once before. I'll be moving with my partner and two exclusively indoor cats. I want somewhere that isn't too far from the city, but still has a nice vibe and decent pubs/cafés. I'm a writer so would like to be in proximity to some cool spoken word nights etc.

My budget is £800 max, but ideally around the 600-750 mark. I've been looking in the West End and have seen some promising places.

If anyone can point me in the direction of a good Guinness, that would be cool too.

Cheers!
