TitleAcid reflux/ drinking

Hopefully some people here can relate and offer some help/experience, I use to be able to drink alcohol with no issues but over a year ago ended up having severe stomach pains after I had it which lasted days and went to a&e which they couldn’t find the cause, things did get worse and was eventually referred to Gastro by GP. I’d say my reflux is mostly fine but can flare. The biggest trigger is alcohol and I feel it was alcohol that triggered these reflux issues in the first place. When I drink it definitely causes inflammation which makes even drinking water difficult days after alcohol as throat is bad and I then have silent reflux which I feel is worse than norm!

I know the solution would be to not drink alcohol, which I’m thinking I might need to do. But I just find it frustrating that I’m in my 20s and pubs have reopened everyone else manages and it’s not so fun ordering water, great for a cheap night but I feel miserable!

So if anyone else suffers what do you drink whilst out as really fed up of water. Have you ever been referred and did they do any tests as feel mine was just diagnosed on the phone. Given reflux medication.
