| Body | I’m from Dundee (not even a thick or broad accent, more generic Scottish) and all that most people I’ve spoken to when out at the pub here do are slag my accent. I’s consider my accent to really not be that bad or localised but now I’m too scared to speak to strangers (🤣).
I’ve had people that are friends from Bearsden and very rich call people Tories/posh for not speaking in a Glaswegian accent.
This is the only city in the world I’ve been where some people care if you don’t sound like them. Some say it in a jokey way, but some are deadly serious and it’s like they don’t want to speak to you or acknowledge you because of it.
So if you’re originally from here, what is the problem haha? |
