TitleTell me there's more to this city?

Body
Ever since moving here from another European country about 18 months ago we've constantly had people roaming the streets outside our house at night either in a drunken stupour being rowdy, or mad neds who come out 2-3x per week at night to shout like crazy and threaten stabbings, etc. Last night, some people were being loud as shit on a Monday night. Asked them to keep it down and 20 min later they came back and started banging on our door for 15 min screaming at us to come out. I swear I thought they were going to ram the door in and come inside. This sort of stuff is just constant.

I've never lived anywhere where the people in my immedeate surroundings are such volatile arseholes. I can barely get a night of solid sleep, I'm starting to feel unsafe because you never know how people will react, and the worst thing of all – because of the pandemic I've barely met any normal people, and this is colouring my view of the city.

This is hard on an anxious introvert like myself. Tell me there are good folks out there, too? Is this just a part of everyday life I should expect?
