TitleLabouring jobs

I'm looking for a bit of job info/inspiration. My partner has always worked worked as a chef but he's over the hours and lifestyle with a young family and has been out of work for the last year with covid. He's looking for a new direction but it's hard to know where to start in your mid- 30's with no other experience. He's happy with hard work, outside is fine and has helped out with labouring and someone he knows laying gardens and quite enjoyed it. Ideally he'd get into something he could get trained up in and make a bit of a career of it but we don't know where to start, he's too old for most apprenticeships we've found and can't drive which also limits the options. Does anyone with any sort of manual/labouring job have any suggestions how to get into it? Thanks.
