| Body | We have eight months old german shepherd and unfortunately we came to a hard decision that he needs to be re-homed.
We have got him away from a puppy farm when he was only four weeks old and he’s been living with me and my partner, seven years old Labrador and two kids since. Ha had been anxious of other dogs and people ever since he started going out. We tried to work on it but nothing we’ve done helped. We have had a dog behaviourist visiting and we were advised that he suffers from severe stress and the best thing for now was to keep him away from dogs and people on his walks, which basically meant dog runs only.
Last night he tried to bite my six year old son without any warning as not during playtime. Luckily, he didnt cause any damage just freight and a small mark to my boy but all things considered we cant take the chances and keep him here. I cant live in a house were each day I dont know if my dog will bite my kids or my friends kids when they visiting. We accepted that he will be a hard work from the beginning considering all his issues with anxiety and we wanted to do whatever it takes to help him overcome that but biting is not something we’re gonna take out chances with due to kids.
The only charity we found cant take him for another three months which is no good. I dont want to put him on Gumtree to avoid scumbags who would take him for breeding or dog fights etc.
Does anyone know anyone who can help. I’m trying all my friends to see if they know anyone.
